Catholic Charities honors gifts of fourth dimension, treasure at Night of Joy

Honorees joyfully give time, treasure

Catholic Charities recently honored five people for the contributions of fourth dimension and treasure that they brand to back up the organization's mission. Jane Schwartz, Blest Sacrament, Andrew and Jamie Mies, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Roger McCoy and Kathy Gann-McCoy, St. Thomas Aquinas, were honored Apr 2 as function of a new recognition program unveiled during the inaugural Night of Joy gratitude gala.

"Cosmic Charities is blest by so many generous people who share their time, talent or treasure in back up of our mission," said Wendy Glick, executive director. "We are grateful for all those who support our work. In deciding to recognize a few people with special recognitions, our hope is that their stories volition inspire current and future donors and volunteers alike."

Spirit of Joy Volunteer Honour

Schwartz was presented the Spirit of Joy Volunteer Award, presented to an outstanding volunteer who embodies what it ways to be the easily and anxiety of Jesus for the people that Cosmic Charities serves. The retired special needs teacher began volunteering for Cosmic Charities in 2008, and now spends hundreds of hours a year at both Our Daily Bread Food Pantry and Harbor House Domestic Violence Shelter.

"We are called to give of our fourth dimension, talent and treasure," Schwartz said. "When I add together on the joy and gratitude I feel when I volunteer, my stewardship becomes a domicile run! I'm allowed to be the face of Christ to so many, and in return I encounter Him in them — hence, the joy and gratitude."

Presented to an outstanding volunteer who embodies what it means to be the hands and anxiety of Jesus for the people that Cosmic Charities serves.

Jane is a long-fourth dimension volunteer at both Our Daily Bread Food Pantry and Harbor House Domestic Violence Shelter. She is a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

"Nosotros are called to give of our fourth dimension, talent and treasure. When I add on the joy and gratitude I feel when I volunteer, my stewardship becomes a home run! I'k immune to be the confront of Christ to so many, and in return I see Him in them — hence, the joy and gratitude."

Andrew & Jamie Mies
True-blue Servant Outstanding Philanthropists

Andrew and Jamie Mies were honored as the True-blue Servant Outstanding Philanthropists, presented to donors who faithfully support the mission of Catholic Charities through their consistent giving. Andrew, investment officer at 6 Summit and Jamie, full-time mom to the couple'south two sons, have donated to Catholic Charities since 2011. In 2014, they became consistent, monthly donors, which is how they continue to give today.

"Nosotros have been greatly blessed and feel chosen to share," the couple said. "We are drawn to groups that are making a significant impact to immediately meliorate people'southward lives – nosotros trust the leadership of Catholic Charities to be good stewards and directly funds to where they can have the greatest bear upon."

Faithful Servant Outstanding Philanthropists

Presented to outstanding donors who faithfully support the mission of Cosmic Charities through their consistent giving.

Members of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Andrew and Jamie became monthly donors to Cosmic Charities in 2014.

" We have been greatly blessed and experience chosen to share. Nosotros are drawn to groups that are making a pregnant affect to immediately ameliorate people's lives – we trust the leadership of Catholic Charities to exist expert stewards and straight funds to where they tin can have the greatest impact."

Caritas Outstanding Philanthropists

McCoy, founder of McCoy Petroleum Company, and Gann-McCoy, a homemaker, were named as the Caritas Outstanding Philanthropists, presented to donors who exemplify charity and Christian love of humankind demonstrated by giving to Catholic Charities for xx or more years. The couple take given to Catholic Charities since 1995, and, in 2014, they turned their almanac gift into a monthly contribution.

"God has provided usa with many blessings and we believe it is our Christian duty to share a portion of these blessings with those in need," the couple said. Roger and Kathy, who are members of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church accept given to Cosmic Charities since 1995. In 2014, they turned their annual gift into a monthly contribution.
